Founded in 1995 by Steve Crane, ACS began with a mission to offer loss prevention consulting services to middle-market companies in Detroit, Michigan, and surrounding areas. Evolving over the years, ACS excelled in surveillance and claims investigations, gaining recognition as a leader in insurance claims investigations. A pivotal moment came in 1997 when ACS was honored as Walmart’s Vendor of the Year for Outstanding Video Surveillance, marking a significant milestone in its growth.
As market dynamics shifted, ACS refocused on regional investigative services, reaffirming its commitment to exceptional service for law firms, insurers, corporations, and individuals across the Great Lakes and Midwest regions.
In 2017, ACS’s impact extended beyond business success when Steve Crane assisted a juvenile lifer in Detroit, leading to the discovery of new evidence and eventual release after 25 years in prison. This success spurred ACS’s involvement in numerous criminal cases, including the exoneration of two wrongly convicted individuals. Steve Crane, now a Board Certified Criminal Investigator, continues to support indigent defense attorneys with evidence gathering and witness interviews.
